Jacqueline Louise Sandoval (née Fettic)

Jacqueline Louise Sandoval (née Fettic) passed away October 31, 2024, in Carson City, NV after years of battling cancer, lung and kidney disease. Jackie is survived by her husband, Juan; her daughters, Jillian Cale, Barbara Pope (Keith), Jessica Houk (Will), and Jolynne Elbert; her grandchildren, William Houk, and Kayla Cale, and her great-grandchild, Emma Cale. She was preceded in death by her former spouse, James Elbert; and son-in-law, Alan Cale.

A sixth generation Nevadan, Jackie was born in Carson City on November 21, 1949, to Jack and Mary Fettic. She graduated from Carson High School in 1967. Jackie retired from the State of Nevada as a computer programmer in 2001. She married Juan Sandoval in 2002. They enjoyed their retirement camping and taking their grandchildren to San Francisco Giants games.

She was a deeply devoted mother and grandmother, a softball and theater parent. She was known among many of her daughters’ teenage friends as a second mom. Jackie was a passionate advocate for young parents and children, providing foster care respite and opening her home to a number of parents in need of extra support. She was an enthusiastic supporter of Youth First Reno/ Sparks. She loved and gave from her whole self.

A memorial service will be held for Jackie on November 16, 2024, 11am at First United Methodist Church (200 N Division St, Carson City, NV 89701). Memorial donations may be made to Youth First Reno/Sparks (www.youthfirstreno.org) or the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org)
