Marilyn Jean Feldmiller
January 18, 1934 - August 18, 2024
Marilyn Jean Feldmiller, a beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away
peacefully at her home on August 18, 2024, the age of 90
years old. She was born on January 18, 1934, in French
Camp, California to the parents of Eddie and Martha Schatz.
Marilyn grew up in Stockton California and had a great
childhood with her younger brothers John and Dick She did
well in her studies and always had a love for learning.
Marilyn met the love of her life, Jerry Leigh Feldmiller, while
they were still in high school. The two became inseparable
and were married on July 27, 1952. Shortly after their
marriage, they moved to Honolulu, where Jerry served in
the Coast Guard. Their life together was filled with love,
adventure, and dedication to one another.
In 1973, Marilyn and Jerry made their home in the Carson
Valley, where they raised their three children. Marilyn was
a devoted mother who always provided for her family. She
contributed to her community by working as a teacher’s aide,
a substitute teacher, and at the Record-Courier newspaper.
Marilyn had a deep love for the outdoors, especially the
Sierra and the Southwest desert. She and Jerry would spend
months at a time exploring these beautiful landscapes in their
RV. Marilyn also had a passion for sewing, knitting, quilting,
and reading. She lovingly created blankets and cherished
the quiet moments spent with a good book.
Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
Marilyn taught them to love and appreciate nature,
sharing her wisdom and affection with each one of them.
She was known for her warm personality and her
signature saying, “Good gravy in the Navy!”
Marilyn’s legacy will live on through her family and the
countless lives she touched. She will be remembered for
her kindness, her adventurous spirit, and the love
she shared with everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her three children
Darell, Jill, and Chip; and many grandchildren and great
grandchildren. Marilyn will be deeply missed, but her memory
will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
