Kenneth Duane McClure

Kenneth Duane McClure, lovingly known as Ken or Kenny, passed away on January 6, 2025, in Carson City, Nevada, at the age of 56.

Ken was born on March 29, 1968, in Redding, California. At the age of two, he was adopted by Lestal and Shirley McClure in Reno, Nevada. He grew up alongside his sisters Debbie, Shaun, Sheri, and Sonya. Ken graduated from Earl Wooster High School in 1986 and soon after
moved to Carson City, where he worked as a dedicated groundskeeper at Western Nevada College.

Kenny had a passion for building model kits, a hobby that showcased his remarkable attention to detail. His deep love for animals was evident in the care he gave to his many pets over the years. He also enjoyed flying remote-controlled helicopters, hiking, exploring caves, and riding motorcycles.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona; his father, Lestal; and his sisters Debbie, Shaun, and Sheri.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley; his sister Sonya; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ken’s coworkers at Western Nevada College for their caring support and his first wife, Karla Cruz, for her kindness during his final days.

The family will hold a private gathering to honor Ken’s life.
