Constance “Connie” Sue Cummings
August 5, 1956 - February 20, 2025
Connie Cummings passed away at home in Carson City, NV, on February 20, 2025, surrounded by family. Born August 5, 1956, in Nogales, AZ, Connie grew up in southern Arizona.
She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arizona before relocating to California.
She spent her career as a software developer for companies in Southern and Northern California, including Boeing, Ralph’s, and Oracle. She also worked in Cologne, Germany. In the early 2000s she left Silicon Valley to live in the communities at Tassajara, Green Gulch Farms, and San Francisco Zen Center. Connie relocated to the Carson City area in 2014, where she worked as a computer programmer for the State before retiring in 2021.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She was athletic, engaging in martial arts, hiking, cycling, swimming, and running. She also enjoyed drawing and various crafts.
Connie is survived by her siblings, George (Fe) Cummings and Harriet Cummings; her niece Misi (Chris) Hartford; nephews Sam Cummings and Christopher Cummings Rowe; and step-nieces Lisa (David) Trockey and Sara (Tyler) Kern.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Rowland Cummings and Dorothy Davis Cummings.
The family would like to thank the providers and staff at Cancer Care Specialists, as well as Renown Home Health and Hospice for the care they provided Connie during her cancer journey.
A celebration of life will be held April 5, 2025, 1:30p.m., in the Crowell Board Room, at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.
