Kevin Clifford/Nevada Appeal Kaitlin Lucky, 11, center, and The Dialogue Group to End Childhood Hunger and Homelessness in Carson City hold a vigil on the steps of the Capitol on Friday. Lucky was one of several youths that submitted a video about homelessness for The Dialogue Group's youth video competition. The vigil was held to remember the homeless that have died in the past year and to bring hope for the upcoming year. Before the vigil the group hosted a community dinner, consisting of chili with bread, salad and coffee, at First Presbyterian Church in the Family Life Center. Afterward, videos submitted by youth in the community for a competition were shown with winners chosen. After the dinner and videos, the group walked to the Capitol for the vigil. Rev. Alan Dorway, member and organizer of the event, said the event was a "time for reflection." This was the third year for the vigil. Earlier Friday a group in Reno held a memorial at lunchtime.
