Charles Sehe, who was born Feb. 26, 1923, served on the USS Nevada, the only battleship to get underway during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. He enlisted in the Navy in November 1940.

One torpedo slammed into the USS Nevada (BB-36) during the Pearl Harbor attack on Dec. 7, 1941, and left a gaping hole on the ship’s port side. Water began rushing into the bulkhead.
