A's Vegas Ballpark Rendering
The Oakland A’s moved one step closer to securing their move to Las Vegas on Wednesday after the state Assembly voted 25-15 to pass a bill sending up to $380 million in public money toward the construction of a new baseball stadium on the Strip.
The effort to spend up to $380 million in public money toward a new Las Vegas stadium for the Oakland A’s sputtered Thursday afternoon, as members of both the Senate and Assembly adjourned until Monday without an initial committee vote on the bill — likely extending the special session convened by Gov. Joe Lombardo on Wednesday until at least the middle of next week.
Gov. Joe Lombardo issued a proclamation late Tuesday night calling on the Legislature to convene Wednesday morning for a second consecutive special session to discuss a $380 million public financing package to help fund a proposed Las Vegas stadium project for the Oakland A’s.
