Melinda Felix of Carson City is the mother of 4-year-old Brendan Felix, who was diagnosed with a rare blood vessel abnormality called a vein of Galen malformation in his brain two days after he was born in March 2020. He also has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, epilepsy and cortical blindness. Felix walks with her son at Schulz Ranch Park on June 7 to keep his body as active as possible.
