At the podium is Judith Shumer, co-chair of Holocaust Day of Remembrance. After the presentation, a candle lighting ceremony remembers the 6 million Jews who were killed during World War II. Playing the violin is Claire Tomoko Tatman from the Reno Philharmonic.
Doris Rappaport spoke at this year’s Day of Remembrance on May 6 in Reno and told of one story after another of how the Jews resisted the onslaught of the Nazis who invaded their homelands.
