A celebration of life for June Patricia Gardiner, 79, a yearlong Dayton resident, will be 10 a.m. Monday at the River of Life Church in Dayton. A reception will follow at the church.

Ms. Gardiner died March 3, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1926, in Oakley Park, Mich., to Fred Patten and Stella Smith.

Before moving to Dayton, she lived in Campbell, Calif.

She was an artist and a machinist. She was a member of River of Life Church and the Civil Air Patrol.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Patten and sister Frances Parden.

Among her survivors are her daughters Sherri Gardiner of Anchorage, Ak., and Sandra Willis of Sequim, Wash.; son, Sam Gardiner of Sonora, Calif.; goddaughter, Suzanne Cosgrave of Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters Judy Riker, Dorothy Hyde and Betty Dastrup; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the River of Life Church.

FitzHenry's Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
