A memorial service for Joseph Louis Terzyk, 80, a 31-year Carson City resident, will be 3 p.m. Friday at Autumn Funerals and Cremations.

Mr. Terzyk died April 16, 2007. He was born Nov. 29, 1926, in Philadelphia, to Joseph and Katherine Terzyk.

He married Sofie Iff on April 7, 1966, in New York City.

He was a retired crossing guard for Seeliger Elementary School.

Mr. Terzyk served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a radarman.

He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, camping, watching football, reading, doing crossword puzzles and baking.

Mr. Terzyk was preceded in death by aunt Victoria Kumor.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Carson City; daughter Patricia DeRosa of Carson City; daughters and sons-in-law Catherine and Jerald Roe of Minden and Sandra and Bill Miksitz of Meridian, Conn.; son and daughter-in-law Louis and Gloria Terzyk of Southampton, Pa.; son-in-law Jeffery DeRosa of Carson City; nine grandchildren and one cousin.

Memorial donations may be made to Seeliger Elementary School's Student Pupil Fund.

Autumn Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
