Fire crews are battling a wildland fire burning in hills of east Carson City near homes off Dear Run Road. Flames are visible from River Road and Eagle Valley Middle School.
The fire is being fanned by afternoon winds.
A small amount of precipitation has fallen, but not enough to dampen the flames.
Aircraft are now working on the fire.
