The mayor of Carson City was arrested Monday night on suspicion of drunken driving.
Sheriff Kenny Furlong confirmed that Mayor Marv Teixeira was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. at John and Carson streets by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper. Furlong said Teixeira, 72, posted bail and was released at about 11:30 p.m. after being booked into the jail.
The sheriff declined to comment further stating the investigation belongs to NHP and he hadn't yet seen the arrest report.
