Dayton softball comes back for victory

Brittany Burrow's RBI sacrifice fly capped a four-run rally in the sixth inning as the Dayton High softball team came back for a 5-4 win over South Tahoe at home on Tuesday.

Dayton trailed 4-1 when Melissa Goetz doubled to begin the rally. After Breann DeHaven singled, Goetz scored on a passed ball.

Amanda Beard singled and Sara Simmons followed with an RBI groundrule double that put runners at second and third. Brittany Hill hit an RBI sacrifice fly and Burrows followed with her RBI sacrifice fly to make it 5-4.

Sierra Barnwell went the distance for the win, striking out eight and walking one while allowing five hits. Beard was 2-for-3 with two runs and Simmons went 2-for-3.
