Gregory Lewis Sherwood at age 60 died on May 26, 2008 in the intensive care unit at Renown Regional Medical Center, after a courageous struggle battling cancer.

He was born October 10, 1947 to Helen (Cavin) and Les Sherwood in Palo Alto, Calif.

Greg had worked as a truck driver at Crystal Dairy Foods in South Lake Tahoe, and was a fishing guide, where he and his wife Carol guided at Bridgeport Lake, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father Les Sherwood and his son Michael Sherwood.

He is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Debra and her husband Chris, mother-in-law Claire Arienti, all of Gardnerville; mother Helen; sister Judie and her husband Doug, all of Sparks; two grandsons, William Saring of Reno, and Brian Saring of Pennsylvania. He also leaves his niece and nephews Kelly, Cory and Tony.

Greg's family wishes to thank the nurses at Renown on the third floor oncology unit, and the intensive care unit on the first floor. Your compassion was overwhelming. All of you are too special for words, especially Kristin.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society would be appreciated. A celebration of life will be held at Debra and Chris Rose's home in Gardnerville in the near future.

Cremation was cared for by FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home.

Honey, you will be forever in my heart.
