4 COVID-19 deaths in Quad County area this week

Three Carson City residents and one Douglas County resident died from COVID-19 in the last week, Carson City Health and Human Services reported Thursday.
For Sept.9-15, CCHHS is reporting 4 deaths, 857 new cases, and 230 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 17,858, with 14,161 recoveries and 268 deaths; 3,429 cases remain active.

Carson City had 3 deaths, 212 new cases, and 45 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 29 new cases per day with a 10.8% test positivity rate.
Douglas County had 1 death, 166 new cases, and 51 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 19 new cases per day with a 25.1% test positivity rate.
Lyon County had 0 deaths, 466 new cases, and 133 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 43 new cases per day with a 23.1% test positivity rate.
Storey County had 13 new cases and 1 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 1 new case per day with a 28.1% test positivity rate.
 
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
 
As of September 15, 2021, approximately 184,805 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 70,520 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 82,106 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 89,371 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna. This number also includes those who completed the series). Data is not CCHHS’ and is taken from the Nevada Health Response Dashboard which can be found at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/.
In Carson City, 31,955 residents have been completely vaccinated and 34,491 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 63.9% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 24,357 residents have been completely vaccinated and 26,150 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 55.2% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 25,041 residents have been completely vaccinated and 27,914 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 50 % of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 753 residents have been completely vaccinated and 816 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 18.4% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.

All vaccines are available on a walk-in basis at every event for first, second, and third doses for those who are immunocompromised.
