10 COVID-19 deaths in Lyon, 5 in Carson during week

Carson City Health and Human Services on Thursday reported 17 deaths due to COVID-19 from Sept. 23 to Sept. 29.
Lyon County had 10 deaths, Carson City, 5, and Douglas County, 2.
CCHHS also reported 384 new cases, and 225 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 18,861, with 14,564 recoveries and 297 deaths; 4,000 cases remain active.

Carson City had 5 deaths, 127 new cases, and 52 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 16 new cases per day with a 11.0% test positivity rate.
Douglas County had 2 deaths, 70 new cases, and 39 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 11 new cases per day with a 18.2% test positivity rate.
Lyon County had 10 deaths, 175 new cases, and 130 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 24 new cases per day with a 21.9% test positivity rate.
Storey County had 12 new cases and 4 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 21.4% test positivity rate.
 
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
 
As of September 29, 2021, approximately 188,212 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 70,759 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 84,217 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 90,754 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna. This number also includes those who completed the series). Data is not CCHHS’ and is taken from the Nevada Health Response Dashboard which can be found at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/.
In Carson City, 32,725 residents have been completely vaccinated and 35,782 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 65.4% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 24,883 residents have been completely vaccinated and 26,470 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 56.4% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 25,830 residents have been completely vaccinated and 28,465 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 51.5 % of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 779 residents have been completely vaccinated and 841 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 19.0% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.

All vaccines are available on a walk-in basis at every event for first, second, and third doses for those who are immunocompromised.
