A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning after he and a 24-year-old Carson City woman were caught tagging power boxes near the Gold Dust West.

After a deputy noticed the two and approached the subjects, the man, later identified as Timothy Todd Jim Jr., took off running. He was able to evade deputies for more than hour before being found in a tunnel.

In the tunnel deputies used pepper balls to try to get the man to surrender. After multiple pepper balls the man said he would surrender but then resisted deputies. He was tased before being arrested. He was checked by paramedics before being booked on a warrant for being a fugitive from justice out of Nevada County, California. Jim was also charged with obstructing justice and one count of misdemeanor graffiti.

The woman was arrested on two charges of misdemeanor graffiti. Her bail was set at $1,174.

• Earl Derice Jonte, a 50-year-old transient, was arrest on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender and possessing a forged instrument — fake $100 bills — both felonies. He was held on $10,000 bail.
