Davis second at Twilight cross country meet

 Douglas High’s Jackson Davis put together the second quickest time Thursday at the Twilight meet.
Davis crossed the line in 14:13, finishing only behind Reno’s Cael Mattioli, who completed the cross country race in 14:02.
Luke Davis was the next Tiger to finish, taking 19th in 15:02.
Romaine Smokey was 33rd for Douglas in 15:54 while Dennis Jorgensen was 50th in 16:49.
On the girls’ side, Ayla Nelson was 27th for Douglas in 19:19 while Anna Elias and Lucy Nord were 46th and 47th, respectively.


Douglas volleyball back in league play
After a seven-game tournament this past weekend, the Douglas High volleyball team will jump back into league play Thursday at McQueen (1-4).
Of the results available, the Tigers dropped three contests over the weekend to Rio Americano, Shasta and Ripon.
All three are California schools.
