Fallon boys golf begins season

After multiple delays due to weather, the Greenwave boys golf team hit the links last week in Dayton and Fernley.

Fallon finished eighth in the opening tournament in Dayton on March 27 but took seventh in Fernley the next day.

In Fernley, Ron Lee led the team with a score of 92 followed by Colin Shishido with 93 and Lucas Durfee at 98. Drake Reid scored a 105 followed by Wyatt Sorensen at 106 and Kylan Sorensen at 111.

The top score was Fernley’s Jacob Holmes, who shot a 78 to lead the Vaqueros to a first-place finish of 348. Fallon finished at 388.

Greenwave Hall of Fame accepting applications

After honoring a pair of classes last fall, the Greenwave Hall of Fame is accepting new applications for this year’s induction class.

The GHOF honored the classes of 2020 and 2021 last year after multiple postponements and no Class of 2022 was voted on due to the pandemic.
