Letter: Cortez Masto doesn’t care about drugs

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto: Thanks for introducing legislation that will do nothing to quell the flow of drugs into the great state of Nevada. Having read your commentary, you must think we are all very stupid.

While Washoe and Clark counties are seeing a tremendous uptick in the number of grams, ounces and pounds of fentanyl coming into our state, the open border that you support is seeing tons of fentanyl coming into the U.S. Every week, it seems, there is a seizure somewhere near the border with enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman and child in the United States.

We, the United States of America, do not have a southern border. Your president, your vice president, your secretary of Homeland Security have all ensured that the border remains open.

Your vice president, who is the border czar, has made one trip to the actual border. If she was really interested in stopping illegal immigration, she would be camped out at the southern border showing support for the Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the DEA. But she isn’t interested because she, like you, favors massive illegal immigration.

If you were serious about getting drugs off the streets of Nevada and supporting law enforcement, you would be leading the charge to secure the southern (and now the northern border).

Mahatma Gandhi said if there is an idiot in power, it means those who elected him are well represented.

Gandhi must have been a futurist.
