Fallon Theatre says 'May the Fourth be with you'

May the Fourth be with you.

This weekend at the Fallon Theatre we are showing Star Wars, A New Hope this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Free Star War stickers will be given out on both evenings to all who come. On Saturday, 30 light sabers will be given out to the first 30 who come to see the movie.

April 30 at 6 p.m., the Fallon Community Theatre annual meeting will be in the lower theatre, and the community is welcome to attend. The president of the Fallon Community Theatre, Stu Richardson, will provide a brief overview of 2023 and the plans for The Fallon Community Theatre.

Treasure Planet will be shown this weekend on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. There will be a $1 admission for this movie. The legendary "loot of a thousand worlds" inspires an intergalactic treasure hunt when 15-year-old Jim Hawkins stumbles upon a map to the greatest pirate heap in the universe. Based on one of the classics, "Treasure Island" -— this film follows Jim's fantastic journey across a parallel universe as a cabin boy aboard a glittering spacecraft. With some friends, he sets off in a large spaceship, shaped like a caravel, on his quest.

Our Star Wars weekend begins with the first Star Wars movie — A New Hope written and directed by George Lucas which was released in May 1977. The movie stars Luke Skywalker, who begins a journey that will change the galaxy. Nineteen years after the formation of the Empire, Luke is thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance when he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan begins Luke’s Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of Darth Vader and the evil Empire. Star Wars will be shown on both evenings at 7 p.m. and is free. We thank Mike and Michele Berney for sponsoring this movie

Continuing with our Star Wars weekend, The Fallon Theatre hosts Eric Perazzo’s video project on May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eric is a volunteer at the Fallon Theatre. His story includes Cats, the Musical, and the trilogy of Star Wars. It is a free event and you are welcome to come and watch a few episodes of his live premiere.

• Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m., in concert, The Great Basic Band. free. Donations are welcomed.
