Changes and delays by the Department of Education with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid are impacting when college students will learn how much financial aid that they will receive for 2024-25.
Consequently, these uncertainties are making it difficult for students and their families to decide which college is the best fit for them, or worse, if they can even afford higher education.
Western Nevada College is here to alleviate the stress and concerns students have about enrolling for the Fall 2024 semester. Western’s Financial Aid Office has professionals that will help students figure out their options and funding for the coming school year.
To assist students with their FAFSA issues, WNC’s Financial Aid Office will host FAFSA Night from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 16 in Dini 201.
WNC Foundation provides scholarship opportunities. The deadline to fill out a scholarship application has been extended to June 1. Apply at www.wnc.edu/scholarships.
WNC doesn’t impose an early deadline for students to enroll or pay for tuition, which is impacting the decision-making of many students. Additionally, WNC accepts all students who want to attend college.
Students can still apply for FAFSA. Go to www.wnc.edu/financial to access the form.
