Sierra Inline Hockey eliminated from nationals

The Sierra Inline 12 and under all-star team's run in the USA National Championships came to an end in a sudden death overtime loss.


Sierra, seeded No. 3 from its division after going 2-2 in pool play, lost 7-6 to the Loungcrest Lightning of Philadephia, the No. 2 seed from the other division, to be eliminated from the tournament on Saturday in Chicago.


Chris Wear scored with 30 seconds left in regulation to force a 6-6 tie and overtime. But the Lightning scored with 30 seconds left in overtime for the win.


Ryan Dwyer had three goals and two assists, Wear had two goals and two assists and Brice Crook had one goal and four assists for Sierra, which also came away with the tournament's sportsmanship award.
