Letter: Too many people don't stay informed

Reading the opinion/letters page of the Nevada Appeal these past few months has caused me great anguish and concern. It is obvious that far too many of my fellow citizens are terribly uninformed, or better yet, misinformed about many of the very important political issues and the candidates.

If only we could turn off the Rivera/Limbaugh types and turn on C-Span (Channel 20) or C-Span 2 (Channel 21) and observe first hand for ourselves our Congress in all its unedited glory. Many of us might redirect much of the anger and disgust.

Ignore the insulting, hate mongoring, name calling, foolish innuendo and distorted "truths." Focus on the issues that apply to (effect) all of us each day. Watch for the power words like profits, market share, privatize, CEO and Corporate America.

Let's become well informed and vote smart.
