Anthony Portoluri, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 30 years, died Nov. 14, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born July 6, 1916, in New Haven, Conn. to John and Rose DiRienzo Portoluri.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Alhambra, Calif.
Mr. Portoluri worked for more than 30 years in the flooring business, retiring in October 1975. He was a member of the Resilient Floor and Decorative Covering Local Union 1247 in Whittier, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred; brothers Venturo, Nicholas and Hugo Portoluri and sisters, Mary Aznar and Fannie Portoluri.
Among his survivors are his sister Anna Higdon of Arcadia, Calif.; nephews Anthony Higdon, Michael Higdon, Randy Portoluri, Emil Aznar, Richard Aznar and Johnny Portoluri and niece Rose Marie Goethals.
Inurnment will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif. at a later date.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
