A memorial service for Frances Mae Bloom Kolman, 86, a Rock Springs, Wyo., resident for the past 77 years, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Masonic Temple in Rock Springs.
Mrs. Kolman died Oct. 1 at her home. She was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Pinedale, Wyo., to John Wesley and Minnie Bloom.
She attended schools in Boulder and Pinedale and graduated from the Wyoming General Hospital School of Nursing.
She married Albert T. Kolman Sr. June 6, 1936. He died June 18, 2000 in Mesa, Ariz.
She worked as a nurse and then she worked with her husband in their business, Kolman Tire Center. During World War II, she taught Red Cross classes helping place nurses aides in the local hospital where there was a shortage of nurses.
She was a member of the Christian Science Church, a life-time member of Harmony Rebekah Lodge 3, IOOF and a Past Matron of the Mount Lily Chapter 10 Order of the Eastern Star or Rock Springs.
Among her survivors are her daughters Karen Kolman of Mesa and Jean Kellogg and husband Garry of Carson City; son Al Kolman and wife Fran of Rock Springs; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sweetwater County, 809 Thompson, Suite D, Rock Springs, WY or to the Shriners Hospital or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, Fairfax Avenue and Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103.
