James Olan Pope, 64, a Carson City resident for the past seven years, died Sept. 5, 2000 at his home. He was born July 6, 1936, in Oklahoma to James R. and Iness Cates Pope.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Pope was a computer programmer and loved working with computers. He was very active at the Senior Citizens Center.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Among his survivors are his mother Iness of San Ramon, Calif.; wife Dorothy of Orange, Calif.; son Jim of Las Vegas and daughter Ruth Salerno of Stanton, Calif.
