A graveside service for Donald Olan Taylor, 72, a 13-year Gardnerville resident, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

Mr. Taylor died May 11, 2006, in Gardnerville. He was born March 28, 1934, in Huntington Park, Calif., to Olan Anderson Taylor and Burdette Taylor.

He married Mary Joe Taylor on Sept. 5, 1952, in Los Angeles.

Before moving to Gardnerville, Mr. Taylor lived in Ventura, Calif.

He was a graduate of Huntington Park High School.

He retired after 30 years with the Continental Baking Co., makers of Wonder Bread. He also worked at the Washoe Tribe.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Among his survivors are his companion, Dovie Bullock; daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Mike Wells of Bakersfield, Calif., Brenda and Blake Hammer of Houston, Texas, and Christy and Michael Rutherford of Eugene, Ore.; son Michael Taylor of Gardnerville; brothers and sisters-in-law Dick and Georgie Taylor and Bill and Debra Taylor; four grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
