John Anthony Demme, 59, a Carson City resident for the past five years, died Nov. 16, 2000 at Washoe Medical Center. He was born Feb. 11, 1941, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Anthony and Carmela Avigliano Demme.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Claremont, Calif.
He married Linda Joslyn in Covina, Calif.
Mr. Demme was a heavy equipment mechanic.
Among his survivors are his wife of 30 years Linda and daughter and son-in-law Penny and Chuck Sheehan, all of Carson City and daughter and son-in-law Laura and Mike Martin of California; sons and daughters-in-law Christopher and Michelle Demme of Carson City and John and wife of California; mother Carmela Demme of California; brother Tony of California and nine grandchildren.
A private family service was held.

Capitol, City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
