A funeral for Lucille Smokey, 82, a life-long Nevada resident, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Viewing will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Smokey died Sept. 4, 2000. She was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Nevada, to William and Sadie Joe Smokey. She graduated from Stewart Indian School.
Mrs. Smokey was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, traveling and playing cards and she made baskets all her life. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Joe Johnson Sr. and Duane Foster; sons Robert Johnson and Joe Johnson Jr.; brothers Carnegie Smokey Sr., Romaine Smokey Sr. and Huntington Smokey; and sisters Freida, Bernice and Teresa.
Among her survivors are her son Marshall Duane Foster; daughters Maxine Johnson Wyatt, and Cynthia Smokey Foster; brother Tommy Smokey and sister Joann Smokey Martinez, all of Gardnerville and sister Geraldine Collett of Carson City; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Burial will be at the Stewart Indian Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
