Two perfect season records will collide head-on when the Douglas and Carson high school freshman football teams face each other this afternoon in Minden.

The Tigers and Senators both sport 8-0 records coming into the scheduled 3:30 p.m. showdown at Keith Roman Field.

Both teams continued season-long rolls last weekend. Douglas scored 27 unanswered points to start the game in its 41-6 victory at Wooster on Friday and Carson put up a 45-6 homecoming triumph against Hug on Thursday.

The Tigers scored in the opening minute when Andy McIntosh caught a 73-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Luke Rippee and Anthony Ripoli's interception set up a Rippee-to-McIntosh 20-yard scoring pass play to make it 12-0 in the second period.

Douglas broke the game open when Rippee returned punts 35 and 70 yards for touchdowns during a six-minute span bridging the second and third quarters.
