Lyon kicks off Summer Food Service Program

Lyon County Human Services has announced the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program.

Meals will be served to all children enrolled in the Latchkey or Summer Youth Recreation programs or who go to the Silver Springs Senior Center June 12 through Aug. 25.

These meals are served to the children at no charge. All children enrolled at sites participating in the program are served the same meals and snacks at no separate charge, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact USDA's Target Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TDD).

Local participants are the Silver Springs School Complex and Silver Springs Senior Center - breakfast is from 8:30-9 a.m., lunch is from noon-12:30 p.m.
