New system will make placing classifieds easier

Starting today the Nevada Appeal has a new telephone number for classified advertising. That new number is (775) 883-9696.

The new number is part of our new classified computer system and launch of our Tahoe-Carson classified network.

With an emphasis on customer service and enhanced advertising options, Tahoe-Carson Classifieds allows you to place classified ads by calling the new number that connects directly to our consolidated call center.

The overriding necessity for the new classified computer system was to make sure we are Y2K compliant. The changes also allow our newspapers - which include the Nevada Appeal; Sierra Sun in Truckee; Tahoe World in Tahoe City; North Lake Tahoe Bonanza in Incline Village; the Tahoe Daily Tribune in South Lake Tahoe; and the Record-Courier in Minden-Gardnerville - to offer cleaner looking and easier to read classified sections and give you more choices to enhance and place more effective ads.

Although you may continue to place ads in person, the centralized call center and convenient local phone numbers represent a move to increase the quality of service to those placing ads by phone.

The new system will also allow our newspaper network to be on the forefront of emerging technology and better integrate print and on-line classified advertising.

Our new Tahoe-Carson Classifieds" section will debut in Thursday's Nevada Appeal.

We hope you enjoy the new format and that you take advantage of our new easy-to-use Classified Call Center at 883-9696.

Thanks.
