Obituary: Frank J. Usselman

An inurnment for Frank J. Usselman, 79, a Carson City resident for the past 37 years, will be June 9 at the Fernley National Cemetery with the Veterans of Foreign Wars providing an honor guard.

Mr. Usselman died May 8, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1921, in Balfour, N.D., to Michael Usselman and Magdelena Steffen-Usselman.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Ely.

Mr. Usselman worked as a mechanic for 48 years, first at White Pine Motors in Ely and then at Flammer Chevrolet in Carson City.

He was Catholic. He served in the U.S. Army in Persia (Iran) and France during World War II, and he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for more than 35 years.

Among his survivors are his wife of 47 years, Hilda; sisters, Elsie Seaton of Sacramento and Elizabeth Axelson and Mollie Lind, both of East Grand Forks, Minn.

No local service will be held.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
