A Baptist celebration of life for James Erwin McGee, 62, a longtime Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
A memorial by the Masons and a military service will also be given.
Mr. McGee died May 31, 2000 at his residence. He was born Oct. 13, 1937 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Frank and Mary McCracken McGee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. McGee served in the U.S. Army.
He owned his own State Farm Insurance office and was owner/operator of the Sierra Fly Shoppe in Carson City. Prior to that he worked for IBM for 19 years.
Mr. McGee was a member of the Sunset Rotary Club, a Past Master of the Masons, member of the Carson City Lions Club, Sertoma, Carson City Fly Casters, High Sierra Fly Club and the Fly Fishing Foundation.
He served as co-host of "The Outdoor Recreation Show" on Carson Access Television for seven years. Mr. McGee was a referee for Pop Warner football for 23 years and served 19 years as a little league baseball umpire.
Among his survivors are his wife Elaine of Carson City; son Barry of Palo Cedro, Calif.; daughter Tamara Currey of Englewood, Colo.; stepson Scott Canchola of Greeley, Colo.; brother Howard McGee of Dairy, Ore., and six grandchildren.
The family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Sierra Sage, 1001 Mountain St., Carson City, 89702.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
