A funeral for Johnnie Wayne Counts, 63, a Silver Springs resident for the past 22 years, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Christian Center in Silver Springs.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Counts died Feb. 14, 2000, at his residence. He was born March 12, 1936, in Vinta, Okla., to Nove and Irene Suffal Counts.
Before moving to Silver Springs, he lived in Mississippi.
Mr. Counts worked for Bruce Industries in Dayton for 10 years. He enjoyed golfing. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years.
Among his survivors are his wife, Shirley of Silver Springs; sons John Jr. and Jeff, both of Spokane, Wash.; daughters Linda Weaver, of Anchorage, Alaska, Debra Buckman of Oxnard, Calif., Julie Counts of Spokane, Wash., Barbara Amorelli of Lakeland, Fla., Cathy Wilson of Williamsburg, Va. and Melissa Bower of Spokane; brothers Gary Counts, Sam Counts, Robert Faison and Dennis Faison, all of Spokane; sister Joyce Blair of Las Vegas, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
