A memorial service for Mary Leona Gangner, 75, a Merlin, Ore., resident, will be Thursday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Grants Pass, Ore.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday at Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home in Grants Pass.
Mrs. Gangner died Oct. 22, 1999, at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Ore. She was born Oct. 12, 1924, on a ranch near Gillette, Wyo., to Owen and Naomi Shroyer.
During World War II, she moved to Butte, Mont., to work. She met her husband there and they were married in Helena, Mont., in 1941. They lived Montana and raised their family there until 1958 when the family moved to Carson City.
Mrs. Gangner was a housemother at the Montana State Children's Center until 1958 and at the Nevada State Children's Center until 1965. She also worked in several local restaurants as a waitress before her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and theater. She moved to Grants Pass in 1993.
She was preceded in death by a son, David, in 1978.
Among her survivors are her son, Ed, of Grants Pass; daughter, Myrna Rafalovich, of Merlin, Ore.; grandsons, Daniel Koffler of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Howard Koffler Stevens, of Yakima, Wash.; granddaughter, Misha Gangner Le Vee, of Portland, Ore.; and six surviving brothers and sisters.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Carson Gardens.
