Mary Newlon, 78, a Carson City resident since 1998, died Jan. 6, 2006, in Carson City. She was born May 5, 1927, in Plentywood, Mont., to Herschel and Amy Moore.
Mrs. Newlon graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Missoula, Mont.
She was a member of the PTA in Bozeman and enjoyed crafts and gardening. She was a Presbyterian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Newlon, in 1985 and sister Nona Traver in 2001.
Among her survivors are sons Brad of Gardnerville, Rick of Missoula, Mike of Grand Junction, Colo., and Brian of Lolo Mont.; brother Herschel Moore of Corvallis, Mont., and six grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
