Obituary: Trevor V. Lewis

A memorial service for Trevor V. Lewis, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 26 years, will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Carson City.

Mr. Lewis died March 30, 2002, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 20, 1915, in Rye, N.Y., to George H. and Mabel Cottle Lewis.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Lancaster, Calif.

Mr. Lewis worked for the civil service assisting the U.S. Air Force in purchasing and inspecting aircraft. He had an aircraft and engine license entitling him to do mechanical work on aircraft. He was a Seventh Day Adventist and attended the church in Carson City. He loved gardening and he liked to camp.

His hobby was building hot rods. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was very politically active, writing letters to his congressmen, the governor and letters to the editor of the newspaper. After his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively throughout the United States, visiting every state.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Among his survivors are his wife of 58 years Dorothy of Carson City; daughters Peggy Rupert of Reno and Cathy DeMagistris of Carson City; brothers Richard of Los Angeles and Ralph of Burbank, Calif.; sister Bernice Sonna of El Cajon, Calif.; five granddaughters and 10 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
