Carson City's Mikey and Aaron Orlick both came home this past weekend with first place awards in local snowboard events.

On Friday, Mikey took first at Boreals Expressions Rail contest. A judged event, each rider had two runs to perform their best tricks on a variety of rails.

On Sunday, competing in the USASA Slopestyle contest at Sierra At Tahoe, Aaron came home with a win in the Breaker Boys (ages 12-13) event. Mike also competed in the slopestyle contest and placed third in the youth men's (ages 14-15) division. Slopestyle events consist of rails, jumps and table tops.

The Orlicks, who both ride for Out of Bounds Board Shop, will continue to compete at different snowboard events throughout the season. Mikey is scheduled to compete at the Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding from Jan. 24-27 in Snow Summit, Calif. Events will include half pipe, slopestyle and big air.
