Contri strong for Willamette hoops

Douglas High graduate Rosie Contri continued to play strong last week for Division III Willamette of Oregon in women's basketball.


Contri, a junior guard, led Willamette in a 74-52 loss to Pacific Lutheran with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.


In a 72-61 win over Linfield, Contri had another strong night, finishing with 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals.


Contri is sixth in scoring in the Northwest Conference with 13.4 points a game for Willamette (9-10, 4-6 in the NWC). She is also second in the NWC in steals (2.79 per game), fifth in rebounding (7.4), ninth in assists (2.79) and 11th in field goal percentage (45.6).
