Comets roll in NSA World Series

The Nevada Comets 16 and under softball team got off to a rousing start at the National Softball Association (NSA) World Series in Plano, Texas.


The Comets routed the San Jose Fury 10-0 on Tuesday. Brittany Puzey pitched a three-hit shutout for the win, striking out five.


Puzey was also 2-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and a double. In addition for the Comets, Katie Stevens went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, Andrea Lazzari and Ashley Hartley each doubled, Ashley Arneson doubled and had two RBIs and Kaycee Wilcks went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.


The Comets will play at 7:45 a.m. local time today. Kayla Dunn will start on the mound for the Comets.
