More than 1,400 class selections await the knowledge hungry at Western Nevada Community College this fall.
Fall class schedules are being mailed this week to residents throughout the WNCC service area, including Carson City, Douglas and Fallon. Schedules are also available at the WNCC campuses in Carson City, Douglas and Fallon and at teaching centers in Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Naval Air Station Fallon, Smith, Yerington and most public libraries in the area. An up-to-date listing of all fall classes is also available on the college Web site at www.wncc.nevada.edu.
Nearly 1,400 class sections on subjects ranging from construction estimating and web page design to macroeconomics and planetary astronomy are being offered at WNCC's three campuses and six teaching centers. Interactive video and online classes are also available. Classes begin Aug. 26, offering the start of a great career in accounting, computer and office technology, criminal justice, nursing, graphic design and more.
Classes leading to a transfer degree include education, anthropology, chemistry, electronics, engineering, geography, geology and history, among others.
There are two ways to register -- use touch-tone telephone at 887-3130 or 1 (800) 748-5690 to register as a student and select classes, or access the college's Web site. Courses are offered at campuses and education centers throughout Western Nevada.
New students must complete a short application form found in the schedule, on the Web site or available at the campuses and education centers. After submitting the application, students are generally able to register for classes within 24 hours.
