Fall registration begins at WNCC

More than 700 classes are being offered this fall at Western Nevada Community College's three campuses, learning centers and through the Internet.

Students can access the fall class schedule and register on the college Web site at www.wncc.edu.

Those who do not have access to a computer can use terminals at the college's campuses in Carson City, Fallon and Minden or at teaching centers in Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Smith Valley and Yerington.

WNCC has several new programs and classes that can lead to careers in fields as diverse as computer technology, health information technology, civil drafting, law enforcement and retail management.

Students can earn a certificate, associate and bachelor's degree or prepare for transfer to four-year schools.

New programs include: civil drafting technology, associate of applied Science; computer programming, certificate of achievement; computer science, associate of science; convergence technology, associate of applied science; criminal justice, associate of applied science or associate of arts; 911 dispatch telecommunications, certificate of achievement; health information technology, associate of applied science; medical coding, certificate of achievement; medical transcription, certificate of achievement; medical unit clerk, certificate of achievement; retail management, certificate of achievement; web technology, associate of applied science.

The fall 2005 class schedule is updated regularly on the college Web site and have been mailed to home addresses in the WNCC service area. Summer session registration also continues.
