A 30-year-old Dayton man escaped from the exercise yard at the Storey County Jail in Virginia City at 3 p.m. Saturday. held for possession of stolen property at the Storey County Jail in Virginia City

Authorities describe inmate Troy William Enloe as clean-cut, 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has blonde hair, blue eyes and a goatee. He was last seen wearing black-and-white prison clothing.

He was jailed for possession of stolen property and is not considered dangerous, Storey County officials said.

He allegedly escaped after throwing a bedsheet over the wire fence in the exercise yard.

By Saturday evening, Washoe County's Raven 2 helicopter and units from Lyon County had joined Storey County officials and the Nevada Highway Patrol in an area search.

According to Deputy District Attorney Sharon Claasen, Enloe was arraigned Jan. 18 following his arrest for possession of a stolen motorcycle in Storey County, a gross misdemeanor. District Judge Bill Maddox reassigned him to drug court.

"If someone has a bad drug problem and we think it will help, we send them to drug court," she said. "They then get intensive outpatient treatment, in addition to being randomly tested for drugs. They must also appear in drug court every two weeks."

Enloe failed to show up for his evaluation for that program, instead fleeing to California where he was picked up in mid-March. He was taken back to Storey County in late March and was awaiting his new court date, set for April 19.

The charge of possession of stolen property can carry with it a sentence of up to a year in prison. Enloe could now face charges of escape and the gross misdemeanor charge could now be moved to felony theft, at the discretion of the Storey County District Attorney's office.
