The Lassen College women's soccer team beat Cabrillo college 4-0 in the first round of the Northern California regional playoffs on Tuesday in Susanville, Calif.
The Cougars have now won 16 straight games and improve to 21-3 overall. They will play American River in the second round on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Susanville.
Freshman Amber Gwinn, who starred at Douglas High, is one of Lassen's captains. She had 18 goals and 19 assists thru games of Nov. 7, putting her among the top scorers in Northern California. The Cougars won the Golden Valley Conference in only their first season.
The top two teams from the Northern California region will play the top two teams from the Southern California region in a four-team playoff next month.
