After a two-week layoff and the loss of linebacker and team leader Dominic Cavilia the Carson Junior Pee Wee Blue Pop Warner football team defeated the Sparks Wolfpack 25-20 at home to improve its record to 4-0.

The Senators showed no signs of rust despite not playing a game for two weeks. The layoff was the result of a forfeit by the Reno Panthers and a scheduled bye week. Quarterback Blake Plattsmier was forced to play both ways with the loss of Cavilia to injury and was solid all night. First-year player Allen Sausedo moved into Cavilias' position at middle linebacker and played an outstanding game as well.

The Senators offense was hitting on all cylinders scoring on 4 of their 6 possessions. The offensive Line of Jonathan Shinn, Casey Foster, Cisco Scarcella, Ryan Hoskins, Gary Ney, Maxx Angel, and Spencer Oesterling dominated the Wolfpack the entire game. Receivers Donnie Kellie and Chris Johnson made several downfield blocks to aid the three-headed running attack of Ricky McDonald, Josh Peacock, and Colton Banta.

The defense battled the Wolfpack all night and gave up only one big play which was a long pass completion at the end of the game. Linebackers Tim Whitmer and Cody Metcalf were tested all night. They met the challenge with Whitmer recovering a fumble and Metcalf making several key tackles. Defensive lineman Brandon Bigler, Danny Gall, Pat Craugh and Rich Johnson were tough all night as well as defensive backs Tanner Laird, Mitch Parra and Jason Allred.

The Senators travel to Reno again this Friday to take on the Reno Chiefs.
