Carson City Library officials unveiled two new strategically located, walk-up online catalog work stations this week.

Mayor Ray Masayko and a crowd of library patrons joined staff for the event. Library Deputy Director Jan Bachman navigated Masayko through databases found on the library work stations

The mayor said he found the databases to be user-friendly and would be helpful for library patrons.

The new stations were funded through a $8,000 federal grant provided by the Library Services and Technology Act. Flat screens on the state-of-the-art computers introduce new technology, library officials said.

The walk-up stations, which provide greater accessibility and convenience to patrons, accommodate the library's Nevada Reference and Fiction areas.

The Carson City Library is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday, Saturday and Monday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is at the corner of Roop and Washington streets. Call 887-2244.
