Fernley baseball defeats Yerington

Tony Selden pitched a complete game five-hitter as the Fernley baseball team defeated Yerington 10-1 on Wednesday.

Selden struck out nine for the Vaqueros (11-8, 6-6 in the Northern 3A) and also went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs. Casey Bisard and Cody Wagner each belted two-run home runs in the third inning as Fernley extended its lead from 3-1 to 7-1.

Bisard was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run and Wagner went 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI. Also for Fernley, Derek Henry went 2-for-5 with three RBI and Cody Reiger went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs.
